About the Solid
Waste Module
In this Web-based module
you work with American and Russian students and teachers to find
out how to solve a problem that faces all societies on the Earth---the
problem of"too much solid waste." In the module, you will get
your hands dirty by separating garbage, build a compost pile and
study the effects over a long period of time, and find out about
recycling. You will also use the tools of the Internet to communicate
with your peers in America and Russia to discuss your ideas about
resolving problems associated with solid waste management.
